Chiranjevulu T, IAS Telangana  ఈ దేశంలో వేల సంవత్సరాలుగా అణగదొక్కబడిన బిసి వర్గాలు   తాము అన్ని రంగాలలో అభివృద్ధి చెందుతామని ,అగ్రవర్ణాలతో పోటీపడే సమాన అవకాశాలు లభిస్తాయని, తమ జనాభా దామాషా ప్రకారం న్యాయబద్ధమైన వాటా లభిస్తుందని ఆశించారు. స్వాతంత్రం వచ్చిన కొన్ని సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత విద్య, ఉద్యోగాలు ,స్థానిక సంస్థలలో కాస్తా రిజర్వేషన్లు కల్పించడంతో కొంత మేరకు లబ్ధి చేకూరినప్పటికిని చట్టసభలలో రిజర్వేషన్లు లేకపోవడం వలన వారి ప్రాతినిధ్యం నామమాత్రంగా మారింది. ఈ దేశ పరిపాలనలో వారు భాగస్వాములు కాలేకపోతున్నారు. ఎస్సీ మరియు ఎస్టీలకు వారు జనాభా దామాషా ప్రకారం చట్టసభలలో రిజర్వేషన్లు ఉండడం వలన వారి ప్రాతినిధ్యం కొంతవరకైనా మెరుగుగా ఉంది. జనరల్ సీట్లలో వారు  పోటీ చేసి గెలిచిన సీట్లు చాలా తక్కువ. అనాదిగా అగ్రవర్ణాలు వివిధ ధర్మాల ,వాదాల పేరిట సామాజిక న్యాయమును సమాధి చేశారు. మెజారిటీ ప్రజల జీవితాలను బానిస బ్రతుకులుగా మార్చినారు. సంపద ,రాజకీయ అధికారం ఆధిపత్య అగ్రవర్ణాల వారి చేతుల్లో ఉండటం వలన బిసిలు బానిస సంకేళ్ళు తెంపుకోలేక పోతున్నారు. చట్టసభలలో  నామమాత్రంగా మిగిలిపోతున్నారు. ఉదాహరణ...

Astronauts say space smells like gunpowder and burnt steak. It being a vacuum and all, space isn’t often thought of as having a scent of its own. And while no one has directly smelled outer space — exposure without a helmet would be fatal — many astronauts have reported that it smells like a mix of gunpowder and burnt steak. The odor is most noticeable after an astronaut returns to their spacecraft through the airlock and removes their helmet, at which point the lingering scent can be detected by both the astronaut who had been outside the ship and their crewmates who remained aboard. THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE ‘GLOW OF HOPE’ – A PAINTING BY S.L. HALDANKAR Glow of Hope, also referred to very commonly as the “Woman With the Lamp”, is a painting by S.L. Haldankar. Born in Savantawadi in Maharashtra in 1882, Sawlaram Lakshman Haldankar showed early promise and enrolled in the Sri JJ school of Arts, Mumbai. He soon became a student of Dhurandhar and Cecil Burns. In 1908, he started the Haldankar Art Institute in Mumbai. Later, with other friends, he founded the Art School of India in 1918 and became its president. The Glow of Hope, is a watercolour masterpiece, now housed in the Jaychama Rajendra Art Gallery at the Jaganmohan Palace in Mysore and is one of the most prized possessions as well as a major attractions at the Gallery. It was painted in 1945-46, almost seven decades ago but yet holds the same amount of fascination for art lovers all over the country. Though the painting is by S.L.
