INDIAN ARMY: TRANSITION FROM EAST INDIA COMPANY ARMY TO NORTH INDIAN ARMY?

The Indian Army started off as an East India Company army drawn from Southern and Eastern India. It now seems to be mostly a North Indian army. If there are more battalions raised from other regions these ratios will look better. The whole of South India rates only 19 infantry battalions to one regiment - Madras. Punjab, Haryana and HP get over thrice that.  Martial races are outputs of a bogus theory. The economic benefits of having higher military recruitment are considerable. Recruitment is directly related to the number of recruitment Centers in a region and the number of battalions being raised from a regional and caste group. This notion of martial races is totally bogus.  Recall who constituted the  East India Company army which subdued all of India? It was mostly drawn from southern India and Bihar. All it took was good training and good leadership. Even Maharaja Ranjit Singh recognised the value of training and had European freebooters to train the Si...

Secular Intent : The RSS criticized the bill's secular approach, arguing that it aimed to impose uniform civil laws on Hindus while neglecting similar reforms for other religions, which they viewed as unfair and discriminatory Religious War : The opposition was characterized as a "dharmayudh" (religious war), with participants portraying themselves as defenders of Hinduism against perceived governmental overreach into religious matters . Caste Concerns : Some leaders, like Swami Karpatriji, questioned Ambedkar's authority to legislate on Hindu matters due to his background as a former "Untouchable," suggesting that a person of his caste should not interfere in Brahmin-dominated issues These arguments fuele...

ONOE is BJP's strategic move to divert attention from issue of the caste census.

Why it matters : The "One Nation, One Election" (ONOE) proposal is seen by many as a strategic move to divert attention from the pressing issue of the caste census. Driving the news : The BJP's push for ONOE has sparked significant debate and controversy, with critics arguing that it could potentially consolidate power in the hands of the BJP and lead to concerns about autocracy. The big picture : Diverting Attention : By pushing a major electoral reform, the government can divert public and media attention away from the demand for a caste census, which has significant social and political implications. Complexity and Debate : The ONOE proposal is complex and requires extensive debate and discussion. This can consume legislative and public discourse, leaving less room for other important issues like the caste census. Political Strategy : The BJP might use ONOE to consolidate its electoral advantage, while the caste census could reveal socio-economic disparities that might...
