Truth Decay is characterized by four trends

" RAND defines “Truth Decay” as the diminishing role of facts and analysis in American public life. This phenomenon has taken hold over the last two decades, eroding civil discourse, causing political paralysis, and leading to public uncertainty and disengagement" Truth Decay is characterized by four trends: increasing disagreement about facts a blurring of the line between opinion and fact the increasing relative volume and resulting influence of opinion over fact declining trust in formerly respected sources of facts  Read more

HOW AFGHANS ARE TURNING BALOCHISTAN GREEN

Courtesy : DAWN, Pakistan  Original Source :  https://www.dawn.com/news/1722029 Locals believe the Afghans are good at farming because of their experience in the Helmand basin area, which they helped develop. Muhammad Akbar Notezai  |  Hummal Baloch   Published   November 20, 2022 Akbar Notezai / White Star Mohammad Tahir Khan looks thinner than other Afghans. He’s wearing a red-coloured shalwar qameez which matches his ruddy face, a turban tied on his head in the Afghan manner. An old watch sits on his wrist but his long grey beard, thinner than his body, makes him resemble an Uighur man from the Muslim-dominated Xinjiang province of China. We are in Nushki valley to meet Tahir, an Afghan refugee in his 60s who arrived in Pakistan with his family following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. He now farms land in Nushki that he rents from a local landlord. Nushki district in Balochistan borders Afghanistan and is situated some 140 kilometres to the southwe...

Tribal Tourism: Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad has untapped potential for tribal tourism, official says

November 26, 2022 - 18:25 Courtesy : Tehran Times Original Source : https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/479062/Kohgiluyeh-and-Boyer-Ahmad-has-untapped-potential-for-tribal   TEHRAN – The November 26, 2022 - 18:25  Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province has great potential to become a tribal tourism hub, the deputy provincial tourism chief has said. The province has 70,000 nomadic people, so it has enormous potential to generate income in this area through tribal tourism, IRNA quoted Farshid Karami as saying on Saturday. However, no investment has been made so far in this area, which is why this branch of tourism in this region needs to attract private investors to thrive and flourish, the official added. In the nomadic areas of the province, ancient Iranian traditions, local clothing, traditional music, and local food could attract travelers, he noted. Through tribal tourism, nomads’ handicrafts and livestock products are sold, and travelers get to know their customs, so subculture...

THE LAST TELUGU KING OF SRI LANKA

Sri Vikrama Rajasinha (1780 – January 30, 1832, born Kannasamy Nayaka) was the last of four Kings to rule the last Sinhalese monarchy of the Kingdom of Kandy in Sri Lanka. The Nayaka Kings were of Telugu origin and practiced Shaivite Hinduism and were patrons of Theravada Buddhism. The Nayaka rulers played a huge role in reviving Buddhism in the island. They spoke Telugu and Tamil, and used Tamil as the court language in Kandy alongside Sinhala. On March 2, 1815, the Kingdom was ceded to Britain under the terms of the Kandyan Convention and Sri Vikrama Rajasinha was deposed and taken as a royal prisoner by the British to Vellore Fort in southern India. He lived on a small allowance given to him with his two queens by the British colonial administration. He died of dropsy on January 30, 1832, aged 52 years. His death anniversary has been commemorated as Guru Pooja by descendants at Muthu Mandabam, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India, since 2011. The Nayaka rulers of Madurai were desc...

SETTLING J&K- Mohan Guruswamy

.  "Farooq Abdullah has said several times what is to be said. He advocates a settlement along the LoC. He has been receiving brickbats from the usual sources. As usual there is little application of mind, half knowledge or mostly even less, and an incorrect understanding of history. I had written this a couple of years ago. Perhaps some of you might want to read it once more and some others for the first time?" MG MOHAN GURUSWAMY  J&K: Time to Break-up the Fiction. Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of South Asia. Until the mid-19th century, the term "Kashmir" denoted only the valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal mountain range. The name Kashmir derives from the Sanskrit Kashyapmeru. The Greeks knew it as Kaspeiria. Herodotus called it Kaspatyros. Emperor Ashoka, who called it Shrinagari, founded the capital near present day Srinagar. The ruins of this Ashokan city still stand. Kashmir evolved with a strong Buddhist t...

Ex. IB officer R.N. Kulkarni’s death shrouded in a mystery

S.M Mushrif is former Inspector General of Police, Maharashtra. His comment : "R.N. Kulkarni, Ex. IB officer, who worked in IB for 35 years was killed purportedly in a motor accident on 4 Nov. 2022 in Mysore. Mr. Kulkarni was on an evening walk. Seeing a speeding car approaching him, he stepped aside and avoided the car. But the car came back and gave him a heavy knock, tossing him in the air and he was killed. The car was without a number-plate " "Initially, it was reported that it could be a hadiwork of Jihadis, as he had written a book “Fact of Terrorism in India.” But soon this theory was changed and OpIndia publicized a different story. It was reported that Mr. Kulkarni had a serious dispute with his neighbour over an illegal construction and the latter’s goons had been following him for quite some time. As the neighbour was thus, seriously suspected, he and his two sons were arrested by the police. The police commissioner, however, clarified that the police have ...

Maharashtra loses projects and pride

At a broader level, arm-twisting investors to rejig their choice of location not based on business considerations can have a serious implications on those looking to invest in India. Besides, every state and region offers certain advantages which the Center should not interfere with just because it has the power to issue licenses. We are talking about ‘federalism’ being part of the basic fabric of the Constitution.  A few projects lost to Gujarat will not substantially alter growth prospects of Maharashtra. But in the game of optics, Gujarat’s gain is now seen as Maharashtra’s loss deliberately inflicted by a Machiavellianpolitical class. Somewhere in the future, there could be payback too. PARTITION: BLAME IT ON NEHRU!

From Daniel Ovelz Michael BLAME IT ON NEHRU! ✪ In the photo the All India Congress Committee delegates are seen voting for Partition.  ✪ Nehru, Pant and Prasad are visible. ✪ But all the blame befalls Nehru time and again for the partition. ✪ The AICC could have rejected the partition if Congress was so against Partition. ✪ It was Rajagopalachari and Patel, the first ones to accept partition. ✪ And again Sardar Patel was the one who prevailed over that if the Sub Continent had to be partitioned then Punjab and Bengal too would have to be partitioned. As both the provinces had vast proportions of Hindus districts along with the predominantly muslim majority districts. ✪ Jinnah had expected that the Hindu districts of Punjab and Hindu districts of Bengal would get transferred to Pakistan as parts of one same province. ✪ When Jinnah did not get the desired Pakistan he termed it as Moth eaten Pakistan. He had even demanded that a corridor connecting west Pak and east Pak be...

"Muslims did not conquer India"

"Muslims did not conquer India. It was Afghans, Persians, Arabs and Uzbeks who did. Islam was their ideology not their nationality. Before that same lot came as Persians, Huns, Scythians and Bactrians. They became Hindus or Buddhists so we don't seem to mind it. Genetically they are as much ANI or ASI as all of us. When the British took over India, we don't say Christians did. Religion is a set of unproven beliefs, like Marxism, with some more unscientific stuff of imagined after life's and superstitions." KASHMIR: It took 2 years for the Indian Army to recover

From Daniel Ovelz Michael. This was in December 1947. ❁ A man in the wheelchair was not in the best of health to take over as Prime Minister.  ❁ The Kashmir war waged from oct 27 1947 untill Dec 1947.  ❁ Due to onset of winter the war was halted till May 1948.  ❁ The war began again in May 1948 and went on till Dec 31 1948. ❁ On Dec 20 1947 the cabinet met and decided to refer the Kashmir issue to the UN not because the Army could not sweep out the Pakistani rangers but because when the war would be halted for the winter the Pak rangers had to be prevented from re occupying  the valley. ❁ Going to the UN helped in keeping the Pakistani rangers out of the valley during the temporary interval to the hostilities. ❁ To recover the area which is now present Indian administered area from Pak invaders it took nearly 2 years for the Indian Army. ❁ So to presume that Indian Army would have flushed out the rangers in matter of few months is fooling onself.
